The University of Tokyo offers undergraduate degrees in English, which are collectively known as PEAK (Programs in English at Komaba). PEAK consists of the 'International Program on Japan in East Asia’ and the 'International Program on Environmental Sciences,’ both of which are built on an initial two years of Liberal Arts education. Students with no experience with the Japanese language can join PEAK and study for a 4 year Bachelors degree in English at one of the top universities in the world and learn Japanese at the same time.Students are eligible to apply to PEAK if they have completed 12 years of education, have taken their primary and secondary education in a language other than Japanese, and have fulfilled the requirements for the standardized examinations.

The International Graduate Program on Civil and Environmental Engineering at Saitama University offers opportunities to eligible international students to pursue graduate studies and research in a wide range of civil and environmental engineering fields. Since its inception in 1992, as of March 2022, the program has produced more than 720 graduates from over 30 countries, including many from Nepal, who are working in a range of capacity all over the world. The program starts either in the beginning of April or at the end of September and requires a standard full-time attendance of two years for a Master of Engineering degree and three years for a Doctor of Engineering/Doctor of Philosophy degree. The program offers courses, including thesis work, entirely in English; Japanese proficiency is not a requisite.
Besides the possibility to enrol as a private student, various scholarship programs are available for international students such as those funded by MEXT, ADB, WB, JICA, etc. Many of our graduates and currently enrolled students are the recipients of these scholarships.

Shimane University was established as a national university in 1949 and has two campuses: Matsue Campus and Izumo Campus. Matsue Campus offers five faculties, including those of Law and Literature, Education, Human Sciences, Materials for Energy, Life and Environmental Sciences, Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering, and graduate schools affiliated with these faculties.
